Shocking punditry,,,they are missing "something". He could do his job and be a bit more specific.
We lack the Grit, Toughness and raw athletic talent. We have good players but our guys lack true grit

Morocco used their overage exemptions to bring in their ABSOLUTE BEST players, like the world class Hakimi. The US uses their overage slots on center backs (already easily our weakest position aside from perhaps keeper) who have already been completely phased out of the senior teams A squad. That decision/selection alone made it clear that the federation/player pool didnt really take the tournament seriously, which is especially disappointing after the abysmal performance during the Copa.
The difference is that Marrocans have fans and a whole nation behind them, the US doesn't have that energy flowing through them. The fear of disappointing the fans is real

maybe that the morrocans don’t need to pay to get into academies so they can actually have the best players from morocco?
The united states should stop playing football.
Maybe stop calling them US men’s teams and just call them team US or US soccer team.
Olympic football is not the same
You suffer from the english syndrome : you think your players have talent . You have very average players by european standards . Just like england have just good players that they think are world class . US football needs to re-think their approach completely. You will never be a big footballing nation if you treat this sport like the 5th sport in the country. Put all your money and ressources in Football , and start by investing in coaching . Nurture futures managers and talents to the fullest of your ability . Screw basket ball NFL and gymnastics scholarships . Stop sending your kids there . Put them at the age of 4 at the local football club . Make marches , force cities to open their facilities to everyone . So every kid can come and play whether it's night or day . Re-think everything about this sport . If you do all that well maybe (best case scenario) in 50 years you'll get to a final . You won't win it but you would have done a final at least .
US Soccer Federation cares more about making money with the MLS than developing players
