Them seeking friendlies outside the US against class teams, will only show them the level they should aspire to achieve as a nation and individually. Jonathan David has yet to deliver with Canada, the man seems to leave his scoring boots in Lille. There's a sense of more direct threat from an aging player like Larin than David. I'm expecting more from Kone, Eustaquio, and players like Davies. Buchanan is also another player that needs to step and show what he can do, it can give him a significant boost for his play time with a team like Inter. Than there's Cornelius, Bombito and Shaffelburg who also have great opportunities to rise to the occasion and show what they can offer to clubs from the top leagues.
The game against Argentina, will really set the tone for their rest of the tournament. Canada has demonstrated multiple times they can hang with class teams, when they force the speed of the game to slow down. It would also help if the team can be consistent with their shots, since that has a significant mental take in the game, when a team proposes goal threats. Argentina and other teams need to be forced to respect Canada, and it can only happen when they see the opposition push them in the final third.
European scouts just saw Canada score a total of ZERO goals in 2 matches. Perhaps a goal close match against Argentina might attract some interest. However, with so many young stars competing at the EURO there's not a lot of attention focused on matches like Canada vs. Peru.
If ANY CANMNT player has a big Copa America, their stock is going to rise significantly. So. not sure what the purpose of this portion of the video is? Zator and Brym are borderline contributors and so no great loss. Ahmed is a big net positive addition – we desperately need depth in the midfield. Not sure Russell-Rowe brings much over the strikers we already have, and off the bench I never see him do very much. How about Adekugbe? Is he not ready to go? And why is De Fougerolles being carried at this point?
